Physics:
Covers fundamentals of measurements, units, errors, and dimensional analysis. Motion topics include kinematics, vectors, laws of motion, work, energy, power, rotational motion, and gravitation. Properties of matter include solids, liquids, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and kinetic theory. Wave motion includes oscillations and sound. Electricity and magnetism topics include electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, alternating currents, and electromagnetic waves. Optics includes reflection, refraction, interference, and instruments. Modern physics includes dual nature of matter, atoms, nuclei, and electronic devices. Experimental skills focus on instruments, measurements, graphs, and circuit experiments.
Chemistry:
Physical chemistry includes mole concept, atomic structure, bonding, thermodynamics, solutions, equilibrium, electrochemistry, and kinetics. Inorganic chemistry covers periodic trends, p-block, d-block, f-block elements, and coordination compounds. Organic chemistry includes basic principles, hydrocarbons, functional groups (halogens, oxygen, nitrogen), biomolecules, and reaction mechanisms. Practical chemistry involves tit-ration, salt analysis, compound preparation, and identification of functional groups.
Biology:
Includes diversity of life, classification, plant and animal structure, tissues, and organ systems. Cell biology covers cell structure, bio-molecules, enzymes, and cell division. Plant physiology includes photosynthesis, respiration, and growth hormones. Human physiology covers respiration, circulation, excretion, movement, nervous system, and hormones. Reproduction includes plants and humans. Genetics and evolution cover inheritance, DNA, gene expression, and natural selection. Applied biology includes health, diseases, biotechnology, ecology, biodiversity, and environmental conservation.
The Test pattern of NEET (UG) - 2026 comprises Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology). The question paper will consist of 180 compulsory questions which must be attempted by the candidates in 180 minutes. (As per Letter CDN-20011/289/2024-Cordination-NMC dated 05.12.2025)
The pattern for the NEET (UG) - 2026 is as under :
To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer. Marking will be done as per following criteria :
(i) Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4)
(ii) Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
(iii) Unanswered: No mark (0).
While every effort will be made to ensure that each question has one unique answer, in case, it is found that a question has more than one option, it will be dealt in following manner:
(i) If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
(ii) If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
(iii) If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.
